“Along with five other students, I took an online Writer’s Digest Fiction Workshop. I had no idea what to expect, but I found it to be a very educational venture. My teacher was not only very professional but she took the time to help each student with their individual stories. Although, at the time, my storyline was weak and my spelling and punctuation were atrocious, she focused on my finer points and helped me develop my story into what it would become today.

I’m happy to say, that in May 2011, my novel, PRECIOUS BONES, was signed with Random House and it was actually published on May 8, 2012.

My advice to unpublished writers would be, believe in your own talent, surround yourself with positive people and find an agent that promotes your writing genre. Getting from that first printed word to being published is indeed a tangled web, but one that can definitely be navigated.”
